Introduction of the Research Group

The research group focuses on solving various problems in the field of mechatronics and robotics, including digitally controlled mechatronic systems, in which the nonlinear nature of friction, due to the mechanical design, is also taken into account. The interplay of these phenomena is particularly important in precision positioning tasks, in navigation of mobile robots, and in so-called haptic interfaces for human-machine interaction. Related to robotics applications, our group is also involved in the development of automated equipment using sensor and actuator technology, data acquisition signal processing, and control engineering including research into new digitization solutions for industrial automation. Our robotics research also includes the investigation of environment-dependent aspects of human-robot interaction. The research group activities also include educational technology developments where the main goal is to make learning fun for the students. In the context of edutainment research, we have developed a robot capable of playing darts (Darts Challenge in Robotics) and a collaborative chess-playing robot called Sakkrobi.
