For 20 years, the Modelling and Simulation Working Group at the Department of Aeronautics and Naval Architecture at the BME has been working on spatially distributed parameter calculations, mainly in the framework of innovation and R&D projects mainly in the vehicle industry sector. The working group is involved in the technical modelling and simulation in the field of static structural, fatigue, computational fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer and vibration. To run the simulations, we have 2 assembled workstations (Gigabyte X399 AORUS PRO, AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2970X, sTR4, 24C/48T, 3GHz/4.2GHz) and 2 HP Z4 G4 (Intel Xeon W-2295 3.0GHz 2933MHz 18C 165W CPU). For student projects, we have 10 Catia licenses for the preparation of CAD models and 4 ANSYS Multiphysics Campus licenses for numerical calculations. In addition to the participation in institutional research projects (e.g. EFOP-3.6.1-16-2016-00014, OTKA, ESPOSA), we were and have been in contact with several industrial partners (e.g. Knorr-Bremse, Corvus, Areva NP, BC Power Plant Ltd., Visteon Hungary Ltd., Microlight Aircraft Development and Manufacturing Ltd.). For the industrial R&D activity, we have access to an ANSYS Multiphysics "associate" license.
