Introduction of the Research Group

The aim of the research is to develop innovative urban mobility services that are based on modern information communication systems, use advanced algorithms, and are suitable for improving communication models. In an urban environment, there is a growing need to make the best possible journey between activities. Therefore, the services to be developed in the research will focus on the following main areas: - Solving the problem of optimizing supply chains is an extended cost function that includes additional aspects in addition to time and cost. - Investigation of onboard multitasking activities for different modes of transport, in particular novel vehicle types. - Further development of the optimization algorithm taking into account tourism aspects and related types of activities.

Achievements

  • Multimodal journey planner evaluation experience: creation of an evaluation framework with aspects for specific user groups
  • Activity-based modeling experience: elaboration of a heuristic algorithm for the optimization of flexible activity chains
  • MaaS solutions experience: integrating different mobility services, supporting a pilot, and creating mobility packages
  • Sustainable measures experience: promoting public transport, organizing workshops, campaigns and suggesting measures to change travel behavior
  • Evaluation experience: creating a smart mobility index and evaluation criteria for multimodal solutions
