Introduction of the Research Group

Our research group deals with the current topics of modern manufacturing technology. Our competencies include research related to Industry 4.0, cyber-physical production systems, industrial measurement, and machining processes, first of all, advanced material removal technologies. Our main goal is to make the production more efficient and the product's quality better than before by the effective integration of different processes into the Industry 4.0 framework. We pay special attention to investigating the machinability of advanced materials. We have extensive experience in the field of design of experiments, data acquisition using sensors, data processing, artificial intelligence-based predictive modeling and finite element simulation.

Achievements

- Development of Artificial Intelligence based predictive models for determining the remaining useful life of cutting tools and the product's quality
- Investigation of micro electrical discharge machinability for low-conductance materials
- Investigation of machinability of advanced and 3D printed materials
