Introduction of the Research Group

Hosted at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, the Energy in Buildings Research Group consists of 6 lecturers-researchers and 3 PhD students. The EiBRGroup participated in several European and National research programs and maintains fruitful relations with research institutes and universities in Europe. The EiBRGroup's research areas are energy efficiency and renewable energy systems in buildings: nearly and net zero energy buildings, smart buildings and communities, occupant behavior, dynamic thermal simulation, building stock modeling, big data analysis.

Watch our 3-minute introductory video:

Achievements

- Development of next generation energy certificates in project QualDeEPC
- building stock assessment and scenario analysis for Hungary, Serbia, Montenegro and Albania in SLED project
- Development of occupant profiles based on a big data analysis of smart meters in Hungarian residential buildings
- transposition of the energy performance of buildings directive into national legislation
- analysis of transpired solar collectors for night cooling
